Cultural Awareness - Part 2
Fostering cultural awareness in children builds an understanding early on about the importance of diversity and what it means to be a global citizen. These Story Central activities and lessons will build on students’ existing knowledge of different languages and cultures through the use of interactive activities.
Around the World
This level 4 lesson from Story Central will get students thinking about the different languages spoken around the world. Students will be asked to consider what languages they would like to learn and to identify countries based on images of the landscape.
The lesson includes audio which can be downloaded below and contains different interactive approaches to teaching including visual, auditory and kinaesthetic activities.
Activity: Culture Comparison
Get students to share their collective knowledge of different countries and cultures. Once they have pulled this information together get them to create a poster and present this to the rest of the class.
